Well Sophia was sick first then Charles followed! I am not sure where they got it from but I think it may have been the nursery last Sunday. They don't seem to be running too high of a temperature, they eat although not very much. The thing that seems the strangest is yesterday Sophia slept in till NOON! and so far today it is 10:26 and I haven't heard a peep from their rooms! Of course I have gone in and checked on them, but they are normally up by at least 7:30 or 8 if not earlier. Once and a while if we do something later then there bedtime they will sleep until 10 or so, but never this long! It's hard when there still not really talking yet, they can say out when leaving a room or bad when talking about snickers, but you can't ask whats wrong and they'll come out and tell you!
Although yesterday they both weren't having such good days! At least for a little while anyway, so I was on the back computer getting things together for David that he needed at work. First Charles bent down to pick something up and hit his head on the bed! Then Sophia tried climbing on the bed an fell and hit her head on the open drawer! IT was terrible all within 5 minutes. Charles' head didn't look so bad, I guess his head is use to his falls but Sophia had a HUGE black and blue mark that stuck way out of her forehead! I felt terrible! I had two sick kids then I had two sick kids with black and blue mark bumps on their heads! Well a day in the life of a Mommy I guess!

Weekend California Trip
So this past weekend we took a pretty last minute trip to California! It was pretty much our first time being there, besides going to death valley a few years ago. We went to visit my Uncle Al, Kirsten, Kaleah, Sally, Alissa, Reina and her husband Corey and their 5 kids, Becca and Tyler with their baby girl Jennasie, Grandma and Grandpa, and my Mom! Thankfully we had two different rooms, but my Uncle does time share and so we were in the Presidential suite! It was pretty impressive, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, big kitchen and living room, Jacuzzi and grill on our own deck. Then the grounds had like 2 adult pools, 2 kiddie pools, 5 hot tubs, a lazy river, plus tennis and basketball courts, game room! On the way their, we programed our GPS for where we were going, not knowing how many HIGHWAY 95s their were I decided not to listen to our GPS! Well lets say we got lost many many times!
So we figured Sunday since we hadn't been to California before that we would drive to the coast! Oceanside was the town we chose to go to, 2 hours from Indio (where we were staying) Decent size town, didn't want to drive to Los Angeles too big! Well The Ocean was beautiful! We ate at Ruby's at the end of the peer, and honestly we don't know if the food was good or not, because we waited I think an hour to eat and were starving by time we finally got food! Although I must say our trip home after that we encountered a lot of terrible drivers!
The first crazy driver we saw was a young man on his dirt bike riding down the highway, it was a 4 lane highway and He waited until cars were right next to each other before passing, It was really scary to watch! We thought for sure someone wasn't going to see him and he was going to get thrown and hurt! Then leaving the Ocean, we were driving we had a green light and this girl was turning left through where the straight on coming traffic was going, (which was us) You could tell she was trying to go but couldn't because we were going straight (GREEN LIGHT) and then she HONKS at us! I was like REALLY!! Then the next was a girl, it had gotten dark and we were on a Interstate 10, 4 lanes, and she was busy driving like 80 with no lights on! It was like 10 minutes had gone by and she finally realized and pulled off to the slow lane and turned on her inside lights and was trying to figure out how to turn on her headlights. Then last of all we had a man behind us on the same Interstate and he started to flash his brights at us, the first time he did it we thought maybe he was trying to tell the girl with no headlights they weren't on. Then he did it again! After about 5 times of realizing he was purposely flashing them at us trying to get us to pull over so he could go by, which their was plenty of room for him to go around us! It was pretty crazy, then he finally did what everyone else does when they wanna pass someone they go around, and then proceeded to flick us off! Well needless to say, we haven't had soo many bad drivers within one day!
Then we decided to head home late Sunday night instead of early Monday morning. Which was another spur of the moment last minute thing! So we took off around I don't remember if it was 8:30 or 9:30pm, but either way already passed our kids bedtime! They did really good on the way home considering the time though! So we decided not to fill up in Indio before we left, it seemed like a good idea at the time, not sure my reasoning now. Well just remember if your headed to Indio California and your taking the 40 way through 95, it is desert with very few towns! So fill up on gas, so we got onto highway 95 and see a town called rice! Well we never found rice, found out later it was a road not a town! So we are watching our gas tank drop lower and lower, we were getting more and more worried we weren't going to make it to a gas station. As we are driving a long we see a car with his flashers on, thinking nothing of it because we passed a few that way already who didn't seem to be broken down. While we are about to pass we see a lady standing outside of her car flinging her arms trying to get our attention!
So we pull back around shut off the car (because we are almost out of gas) we get out and ask what is wrong. Well come to find out she DID run out of gas! She has a GPS that tells us a gas station is 40 miles away, so we tell her we will give her a ride and hope we make it! Then she says I have an 8 year old too I will get him and come to your car. So David and I sat in front and Sophia and Charles car seat took up most the seat and there she sat with her little boy on her lap. She was sad to find out her GPS was wrong that instead of 40 miles away the gas station was only 30 miles away. So we filled up, even though it was close to 5 dollars a gallon! She got a 4 gallon tank from in the store, then we took her back to her car. Listening to our GPS this time we took the right 95 just before parker and watched her keep going home to Lake Havasu.
Well that added an hour onto our trip, but it made it worth it just to help her out. She told us 10 cars passed her before we did! It is amazing that you can drive by a woman with her flashes on and her arms flinging trying to get your attention in the middle of no where and not feel bad! So we figured the Lord was wanting us to go home when we did to help her out.
Well over all we had a good trip to California, can't say I ever want to move there anytime soon but it's nice to visit and live so close to the ocean. Although I did leave my camera at home! So I don't have any pictures unless I can get David to take the few we took off his phone or have mom send me them when she gets home!

Unexpected Weather!
So being 7,000 feet above sea level can bring unusual or unexpected weather! Like having a snow storm beginning of December and then today December 29th its 59 degrees! So I am enjoying the day with all our windows open enjoying fresh air! The next two days are suppose to be just as warm and then it drops to the lower 50s! Wonder what the weather holds for next week!
Family Visit
So a few days ago now we had a visit from my family. They were passing through on their way to California, and their was a bunch of them! haha my uncle Alan drove down from Alaska with his wife Kirsten and daughter Kaleah. They drove to Minnesota and picked up my Grandma and Grandpa, my Mother, my Aunt Sally, my cousin Alissa, and my little Sister Teather! (Teahter was a suprise! She came just to see me! well and to go to a Hollister Outlet, but I like to think it was only me! lol) Well driving with that many people and wanting to see things they got in later then expected after the kids went to bed and we all went out to eat at Cruisers, except David he stayed behind. (at a rt 66 Diner in town) Short quick visit but enjoyed seeing them. Then ofIf they went towards California!
So the other day I was watching old videos of Sophia and Charles on facebook, and they sat quiet the whole time and gladly watched them with me! I wonder if they realize that is them as they were little or if their just fascinated because its another little kid! I so often wish I could be inside their head and hear what their thinking!

Like this random video was after Charles had been crawling for a while, I video taped it because his silly scrunched up face he was making! It is funny to see the different stages they go through. Pacifiers, faces, laughs, etc.
